What is the Driver CPC?

A Driver CPC is for drivers of LGV and PCV vehicles, who drive as their full time job.

It's basically a periodic assessment scheme where drivers of LGV and PCV vehicles must undertake continued training to keep themselves qualified and licensed.

How long do I have to train?

  • You must complete 35 hours of training administered by a professional driving instructor
  • This must be completed every 5 years
  • It is required by EU Directive 2003/59

New LGV & PCV drivers

Prior to undertaking any PCV or LGV driving, new drivers must complete Driver CPC training as part of their vocational licence. Until they complete this new drivers will not be allowed to drive professionally.
